If I were a bird, I would fly in the sky, because I always dream about flying in the sky. I would fly upon to view the city I live in, and it must be owesome. I would fly to the mountains and woods, to see the beautiful scenery. I would also want to fly above Sun Moon Lake to see if it really looks like a son, and moon. If I were a bird, I would like to fly through nature.
If I were a bird, I would live in the tree. When I was a kid, I usually wondered about what the birds do in the nest. Are they feeling bored? How do they feel about living on a branch? What do they do when a Typhoon is coming? I think I could figure out all these questions if I were a bird.
If I were a bird, I would like to fly to heaven to see my grand parents, because I miss them so much, although I know its impossible. When I was in kindergarden, we still live together, and they loved me so much. They alwas played with me, and gave me a lot of candy. When I couldn’t sleep at night, my Grandma would tell me stories until I fell asleep.
They went to heaven when I was in the first grade, and I remember I cried for a whole month, I was so sad. So if I were a bird, I would like to fly to my grand parents, to tell them I still love them very much.

Being a Monitor
The bell rang. It was time to get ready for another class. The classmates took their seats quickly and kept silent. As usual stood up and looked around. Everyone was busy with their lessons except Wu Qiang. He was still eating something. So I said loudly,“Please stop eating, Wu Qiang. Haven＇t you heard the bell?”But he was deaf to what I had said. I raised my voice and repeated impatiently①,“Stop eating. Is it that delicious? ”Helookedupand murmured,“I like to eat it. It＇s none of your business②.”Some students began to laugh and my face turned red.
I＇m the only girl monitor in the grade. Some boys in my class are so naughty that they have made me cry several times.
That evening, I told my mother about the matter. Mother smiled and said,“It is not so easy to be a good monitor.”“How I wish I were a strong boy! I would take away what he was eating and throw it away!”I said angrily.“But it is no use doing that. You can do even better than a boy. You should look on your classmates as your friends, and be patient and friendly to them.”Mother said seriously.
Mother＇s words made a deep impression on me. Since that day I＇ve triedto changemy wayof treating my classmates. I＇ve begun to get on well with them. They respect me and help me with my work. Even Wu Qiang often says to the students of other classes,“We have a good monitor and we like her.”

The above bar chart informs us of the phenomenon that there exist some differences in additional working hours among diverse careers, especially between self-employed businessmen and civil servants. Self-employed businessmen spend nearly 2 hours per day in working overtime. On the contrary, civil servants’ additional working hours is the shortest, only less than 50 minutes per day. The overtime of scientific researchers, cultural and sports workers and teachers is 80 minutes, 70 minutes and 55 minutes respectively.
Ample reasons can account for this phenomenon. Firstly, to make more profits, self-employed businessmen have to spend more time in manufacturing products, attracting customers, providing after-sale services and managing staff. Moreover, with the competition becoming fiercer, they have no alternative but to work overtime to avoid being eliminated by the market and their rivals. When it comes to civil servants, things have gone otherwise. Confronted with less risks as well as pressures and leading a steady and routine life, they don’t have to work overtime frequently.
Working overtime is a two-bladed sword. Surely, it will generate considerable benefits. However, it will give rise to some damages, especially to our health. We should balance our work, life and health or we will eventually become a machine and salve of work.

To tell you the truth, I don‘t like the Spring Festival at all. When I was young I liked it very much,because I could had something tasty to eat during the Spring Festival,and I could enjoy very wonderful TV programmes,too,I also could had much free time during which I could did something I liked to do. I don‘t like it now, there are many reasons.
Firstly, I can‘t have a good time during the Festival. Every New Year‘s Eve something unpleasant often happens. Once I quarreled with my second brother.
Secondly, I can‘t relax myself during the Festival. I have to do many things, watch so many TV programmes, meet so many people,all these things make me very tired.
Thirdly, spending one Spring Festival means that I become one year older, I don‘t like to be old. I want to live longer and be young all the time.
