“铃铃铃铃”，那充满“恶意”的下课铃还是大喊了起来，令我心惊胆战。我不敢再去看一眼我手中的试卷，生怕发现了错误。我的心如吊在空中的巨石般，直到那一刻，它才尘埃落定。
试卷发落了，我看着分数，不禁呼道：“幸亏我没错过那次英语考试！”
“同学们，明天我们第一节课将进行一次考试，请大家不要缺席。”老师在讲台上喊道。那喊声，如利剑般扎进了我的心。要知道，如果你的考试分数较上次降低的话，不仅戒尺会向你微笑，你的家长也会向你“微笑”。
心里想着老师的那句话，回到家，顺手把书包扔在沙发上，踢开了椅子，揪出英语书，再推下桌子，郁闷地看起书来。这时，我满脑充满了气愤：我上次的分数那么艳丽，只是前一天多向上天祈祷了几下，这次哪能来这么好的'运气？唉，这不过亡羊补牢罢了。无奈间也只能看着英语书那妩媚动人却又充满恶心地面庞了
太阳睁开了眼，把那阳光洒在大地上，也洒在了我的脸上。而我看到阳光是多么不情愿。因为我的“祭日”快到了，心里突然冒出一个邪恶的念头：假意没赶上校车，这样可以逃过第一节课。这时我的影子已经映在了大树上，距离校车到达只有不到5分钟，而这个念头仍在与我作斗争。去？肯定又考得不好，遭到老师的“照顾；不去？也肯定遭受家长的洗礼”。现在我正站在断桥边，往前走不知道桥还是否完好，若是往后退又会回到地狱，使得我进退两难；又好比正义与邪恶作斗争，一方是我邪恶念头，另一方是正义的信仰
此时这三百秒已所剩无几，8，7，6终于到了决定的时候是艰难的，是压迫的，更是伟大的。我沉重的双腿不禁向前迈了一步，又一步，再一步，一直往前走，终于，我坐在了校车上。英语考试，我最终选择了它，而结果，已抛之脑后。
英语考试就如成长旅途上的一座大山，也是一次困境。无论如何，只有困境，才能使我们成长，不要去想着怎么躲避，而是想着如何微笑面对它。
不错过那次英语考试，其实就是不错过成长中的那座大山，正是这一座座大山，铸就了美好的人生。

Nowadays, a new style homework correcting appears in school which has become a hot point under discussion. We usually get a mark tick for right answer and get a cross for wrong, but things has been changed, educator use “o” for “x”, which makes the correcting more gentle. As to this new type correcting, there is no consensus agreement among people.
现在，校园里出现一种新型的作业批改方式成为了人们讨论的热点。我们通常是做对打勾做错打叉，但现在改了，教育学家用o代替x，这让种方式更加柔和一点。对于这种新方式，人们的看法不一。
People who agree with this new style homework correcting hold the views that our educational method should be gentle. The child’s mind is not mature enough, teachers should choose a more acceptable way when they are correcting student’s homework. Such as an “o” is softer than an “x”. Because in our mind, “x” represent absolutely wrong, on contrary, an “o” means “you should think twice, there is a better answer waiting for you to find out”. It could lead on a student to correct his answer without hurting his feels.
同意这种新方式的人认为我们的教育模式应该温和一些。孩子的心智还不够成熟，老师应该选更加容易让人接受的方式去批改学生的作业。例如o就比x温和一些。因为在我们的心目中，x代表了绝对的错误，相反，o意味着“你应该三思，还有更好的答案”。这能在不伤害孩子的感情之下让他改正错误。
However, some people think that if we always use a gentle way to teach students, how could we develop the student’s ability to face the error and frustration. There is a reason for educator use “x” for wrong answer, students should have the courage to face the error that they made, and they should remember why they do it wrong.
然而，有些人认为如果我们总是用柔和的方式去教育学生，那我们怎么培养他们面对错误和挫折的能力？教育学家用x批改错误的答案是有理由的，学生应该有勇气去面对他们犯下的错误，还有他们应当记住为什么他们会做错。
Weighing up these two arguments, I prefer the former one. I think once student has accepted their error, they will voluntarily to correct. Otherwise, students see an “x” and their defensive mechanisms automatically come up.
权衡以上两种观点，我倾向于前者。我认为一旦学生接受了自己的错误，他们就会自愿地改正。否则，学生一看到x就会自然而然地产生一种抵触心理。

The Human Genome Project will revolutionize the detection, prevention and treatment of conditions of certain diseases. Genes help early detection of diseases and fix health problems, not just to predict them. Genetic medicines will be aimed at the causes of disease rather than the symptoms and doctors will start prescribing different treatments for different patients, depending on their genetic profiles. But decoding the book of life poses moral dilemmas. It threatens to undermine privacy and bring on genetic discrimination in marriage, insurance and employment. With knowledge of our genetic code, those who have got certain undesirable genes may be discriminated when choosing their spouses. If genetic tests predict mental dullness, short stature or other undesirable traits before babies are born, the society may look down upon children whose parents let them be born , the society may look down upon children whose parents let them be born with those traits. Employers may take your genetic profile before they offer you a job.
In my opinion, the completion of the Human Genome Project is a great breakthrough in human history. It will change the way we live and even the way we think about who we are to prevent genetic discrimination, in insurance and in employment based on genetic tests.
