英语作文 篇4

I like drawing. It does bring me happiness. As a kid, I was keen on those lines and curves drawn on paper made into animals and scenes.。It really could show beauty to people and express my feelings. And then I took a course so that I could get close to it and see it well. But at that time, I just did it for fun. Years went by, I got into a long period of time filled with pressure in study. And I found it so good a way to relax. It did not any longer play an unimportant role in my living, but bacame my friend. Since that time, I have felt it like a nice person deep in my heart who can talk with me with true words and make me happy with life. This is my hobby, not just a hobby, but also a true friend.

英语作文 篇5

The seats in our school reading-room are not enough for all the students. Many people get there very early to "seize" a seat every day. So do I. One day a "special" thing happened to me. And I learned a lesson that I shall never forget.

It happened on a Wednesday morning last January, just before our final examation. I got to the reading-room very early to occupy a seat. I put a book on the desk and then went to have breakfast. But when I hurried back into the reading-room, I found someone was sitting on the seat which I had occupied in advance. I ran to him immediatly and shouted at him angrily, "Go away. It's my seat." Everyone raised their eyes and stared at me unfriendly. My face turned red and I felt ashamed of myself. I took my book and fled helter-skelter before so many eyes.

I dared not go to the reading-room for several days. I learned a lesson in the reading-room. Since then I have been keeping the lesson in mind: To be polite to everyone.

The seats in our school reading-room are not enough for all the students. In order to "seize" a seat, I go there very early every morning. Just because of this, a special story happened to me one day. I learned a lesson in the reading-room that I will remember all my life.

It took place on a Monday morning in October. After occupying a seat in the reading-room, I went to fetch a bottle of boiled water. When I returned to the reading-room, I found that a girl student was sitting on my seat. Immediately I ran to her and shouted at her angrily, "Why have you taken my seat? Go away.!" Everybody in the reading-room looked up from their books at me unfriendly. At once I brushed with shame. I rushed out of the reading-room with my book. I can never forget those "eyes".

This is the lesson I've learned in the reading-room: I shall respect other people.

  Dear Linda,

I know it isn’t easy to learn English, but I have some ideas that may help. You said you couldn’t understand people who talked fast.Well, you can try to listen for the most important words, not every word. You said you forgot a lot of new words.I think you should write down new English words in a vocabulary list. And you said you couldn’t get the pronunciation right.Maybe you need a partner to practice English with. You said you couldn’t understand the words in magazines. You can use the dicationary.I hope you will get an A in English this term.

  Yours,

Effects of Financial Crisis on College Students

  金融危机给各行各业都造成了一定影响金融危机对大学生造成何种影响作为大学生,应怎样应对这种影响?

Since the financial crisis swept the world, the global economy has sunk into a severe recession. It‘s hard to get through a day without hearing or reading news about the devastating effects of the crisis: A world of companies go bankrupt, millions of employees are laid off, high-return investment bubbles burst, and huge sums of loans can never be retrieved. Its impact on our daily life can be felt in all walks of life.

College students inevitably fall victim to this pervasive slump as well. On top of that, internships and job vacancies are reduced to the minimum as companies keep shrinking. New graduates find themselves hard to get a job, not to speak of a satisfactory one. What comes next? Poor students will be hard-pressed if they find student loans unavailable any more. As a result, some even cannot afford to continue their studies. Lastly, more students are probably out there anxiously looking for part-time jobs now that they have to help cover their expenses in this gloomy economy. Their innocence and eagerness might be taken advantage of by some malicious businesspeople, or even criminal gang.

In response to these threats, we students must act promptly and wisely. Since we definitely will be facing a competitive job market, it‘s crucial that we submit high quality resumes. Therefore, we must commit more to our professional studies. Even do better, master more relevant job skills as a double security. Furthermore, apply for scholarships and grants, as these are still available and we don‘t have to pay them back. As for the safety issues, trust our instinct - there‘s no free lunch in this world. Anything that promises quick returns without much work is a sure trap. Stay alert and protect ourselves.

英语作文 篇8

i spent this summer vacation in quite a different way. i used to run about every day in previous summer vacations, but this summer vacation i simply could not afford to do so. i would soon be in the last year of my high-school education and would after graduation be up against the college entrance examinations. though those examinations were still a year away, i had to start early to make myself well prepared by reviewing all those things i had learned at school and this summer vacation was the ideal time for me to do this. at first i was rather dismayed at the thought of thise. with this in mind i then set to work like anything and only occasionally went out for a change or did some physical. i was not at all bored by this kind of life, for i was sustained by a hope.

  told to bolster domestic consumption

china should move away from its heavy reliance on eports and boost domestic consumption to achieve balanced growth in the long run, a former us federal reserve chairman said on friday.

a woman stands between stacks of grapefruit at a fruit market in shanghai. chinas economic growth is epected to slow to 10 percent, according to a joint study by the state information center and the shanghai securities news. [reuters]"the performance of the chinese economy in the past 5 to 10 years has been historically remarkable, even by earlier chinese standards," said paul volcker, former chairman of the board of governors of the us federal reserve system."to continue to grow nearly 10 per cent year after year is an enormous achievement," volcker said.the former us federal reserve chairman, who held the post from 1979 to 1987, said there needs to be some rebalancing in the chinese economy if it is to maintain healthy growth in the long term.

"i do think the economy has reached a point where some rebalancing is probably necessary," volcker said in an interview on the sidelines of the 10th annual businessweek ceo forum, which ended in beijing on friday.in particular, the former federal reserve chairman said china should epand internal consumption to drive its growth."there should be more room for consumption and a little less for investment to get a more balanced growth over time," volcker said.su ning, deputy governor of the peoples bank of china, sounded the same alarm on thursday at the forum.

according to su, the share of domestic consumption in the national economy has been on a downswing since the l980s.the proportion has slumped from 62 per cent in the 1980s to 52 per cent last year, a trend that su said may pose problems for economic development."and moving towards more internal consumption will also help solve the imbalance in the eternal side," volcker said.the central banks su also identified the balance of payments as one of the problems nagging chinas economy.chinas foreign trade surplus hit us$109.9 billion in the first nine months of this year eports jumped by 30.6 per cent year-on-year in september to us$91.64 billion.

"it is in the interests of china itself and the world that it moves away from ecessive reliance on eports," said volcker, who once headed the uns independent inquiry committee into its oil-for-food programme.the former us federal reserve chairman suggested there should be more restraint on the monetary side.

"there are many instruments to do that," he said, without going into detail.英语作文 篇10
