一开始读《飘》,不了解斯嘉丽,认为她是一个讨人厌的.十足千金大小姐,只是拥有倾国倾城的容貌,就骄傲得不可一世。下面是小编整理的飘英文版读后感,欢迎阅读。
A war swallowed a beautiful woman, a perfect family and a love. Everything seemed to be a dream, going with the wind.
Scarlet, a gifted nobleman, should have tasted sweetness of love, but she bore tragedy of her love, crush of her family love and falling of her friendship in the trouble times. So without dependence, she learnt to be more independent and stronger than before. To my sadness, she didn’tobtain what she wanted throughout.
For her love, Ashley was a pure dream. Scarlet loved only his bright appearance in fact, as elegant poems sank Scarlet into dubious illusion. Therefore, she realized her true love wasn’t Ashley who was perfect in her, but the contrary, Butler was ambitious, not like Ashley. He won his own love finally, Scarlet, expressing his power. Although Butler didn’t integrate intoswelldom really, he was fit for Scarlet. However, when Scarlet poured her love to Butler, he refused her, even abandoned her because his heart was filled with scars. Their crystal of love went with the wind, their love gone with the wind.
For her friendship, not only Scarlet depended upon Melanie, but envied her, getting Ashley’s love. In fact, it was not until Melanie died that Scarlet realized she relied on Melanie. Melanie was alike an angel from heaven, kindhearted and virtuous. She was core of Ashley. In reality, Scarlet liked what Ashley was, was Ashley who was protected by Melanie. So in the opposite of envying Melanie, Scarlet loved her. Their friendship was subtle.
For her family, it was a tragedy. Eventually, it was incoherent. No parties, no cheerful chatting and laughing, there was just broken walls of Tara. All got away from Scarlet into another world, leaving her alone to face the cruel war. This witnessed a social vicissitude.
Gone with the wind, displayed a pretty woman chasing true love, described a cruel war and depicted a subtle friendship. In the story, selfishness of Scarlet, avarice of Butler, goodness of Melanie and recreance of Ashley appeared before our eyes. Not only gone with the wind was a novel, but an encyclopediaabout characters.
As readers, in my opinion, we don’t browse it, but peruse mind of it and apperceive it. To learn how to depict a character and to deliver a mind though the character is what we should do after perusing it.
Finally I finishedGone withthe Wind, written by Mitchell,M. It’s undoubtedly a masterpieceI’ve read. The 1386 pages depicted a love story happened during theAmerican Revolution.
Scarlett O’Hara was thedaughter of a planter Gerald O’Hara in Tara South America. She wasnot very beautiful, but very charm, vigorous and had a high-spirit.She loved Ashley Wilkes to distraction. She was heart-broken by thenews that Ashley would engage with his cousin Melanie Wilkes, thenshe decided in hastily to merry Melanie’s brother Charles asAshley’s sister India was in love with Charles. Several monthsafter their marriages, the Revolutionary War broken out and Charlesand Ashley both registered as a cavalry for South. And Scarlett andMelanie lived in Atlanta with Melanie’s aunt Pitty. After the newsof Charles’ death, Scarlett with her son and pregnant Melanie fledback to Tara only got to know that Scarlett’s mother Ellen had diedand her father Gerald hadn’t be himself any more. In order to raisethe whole family, Scarlett decided to back to Atlanta to merryRhett Butler, an ill-named speculator.
But by accidence, Scarlettfinally married Frank Kennedy, the beau of her younger sisterSuellen and bore a daughter Ella with him. Frank was murdered inone of a trap and then Scarlett married Rhett Butler and had onedaughter Bonnie, died in an horse accident.
At the end of the story,Melanie died of miscarriage. Upon that time did Ashley found he wasin love with Melanie not Scarlett and Scarlett also found the oneshe loved was Rhett. But when she backed home, Rhett told her hislove for her was drained and he decided to leave Atlanta. Scarlettdidn’t give up and she said to her self “After all, tomorrow isanother day.”
Through the entire story, I wasattracting by the book from the beginning to theend.
Scarlett is the protagonist ofthe story. She is charm, of course. Her emerald eyes, deep dimplesand merry peals of laughter almost arrest all the men to be herbeaux. Beyond that, she is also brave, decisive and never gives up.Whereas selfish()ness, cruelty, imprudence are also inalienable partsof hercharacter. Ifshe wants to possess something, she will get it by every art. Thatis Scarlett.
Rhett Butler is a veryimportant role in the story. He is outcaste by his family and theold society as his misbehaviors. But actually, he is just the onewho is brave enough to break through the constraint of the society,do and say things just as he like. He and Scarlett fall to the samecategory, conceited and brave.
Ashley Wilkes and MelanieWilkes belong to the same class. They’re cool good breeding, goodbook learning and share the same sterling qualities. They areaddicted to their old life and not brave enough to start a newlife. So they stuck in a paradox and not lead a poor and miserablelife.
Among all the figures, the oneI love most is Melanie, despite the fact that Scarlett is theprotagonist. Scarlett is too selfish to get my admiration or inother words, I bear contempt of her.
Melanie Wilkes is a good lady. She is Ashley’s cousin, inherited their family characters, but sheis more brave and decisive than Ashley. She and Aunt Pitty both aresheltered by their families. They just like children, believingeveryone and never bother to think people will bear illthoughts.
Melanie loves Scarlett asScarlett protects her in the siege of Atlanta and helped to feedher and her child Beau in Tara. She never doubts Scarlett and herHusband Ashley’s infidelity to her. Whenever Scarlett is underpeople’s criticism, Melanie always stands beside her with a swordin her small hand, ready to do fights for her. Now Melanie died, the sword which had flashed between her and the world was sheathedforever.
Melly has so weak, so gentleand so tender a heart that earned her the admiration of all peoplearound her, including me, a reader.
